REPATRIATION BOARD.
PRIME MINISTER TO BE CHAIRMAN.
Wellington, Dec. 2
Sir -fames Allen is not to be chairman of the Repatriation Board. It is understood he retires ■at his own request. The Prime Minister (Mr W. F. Massey) will be chairman, and during bis absence the Hon. W. 11. Herries will act. The Board will he the Hons. W. H. Herries, IV. D. S. MacDonald, J. A. Hanan, and D. 11. Guthrie.
Sir James Allen retains control of the soldiers until discharge, and in this capacity he will have control of.all curative and educative work of partly disabled men. Returned soldiers do not approve of the Board of Control of Repatriation, and probably their doubts are shared by the Minister for Defence. At any rate, Sir James Allen will not concern himself with any repatriation activities concerning soldiers after discharge.
