A storm of unprecedented violence passed over Gulgoug (X.S.W.I recently. In the first 15 minutes 95 1 >!>ijj 1 s of ruin fell, and later (it fell in .10 minutes. The hail that accompanied the storm was in cases the si/.e of shilling pieces, and had the appearance of jagged glass. Fortunately no one was injured, but considerable damage was done in one portion of the town. Hundreds of windows were smashed, while iron was lifted bodily from roofs and blown considerable distances. Chimneys fell like packs of cards. One house was completely overturned, the inmates just escaping in time. In the morning parlies were to be seen looking- for the iron off their premises. At Powell’s Hotel £IOO worth of damage was done.
