OLD BOOTS FOR DISCHARGED SOLDIERS.
Sir Arthur Yapp's appeal for old hoot*, etc., for men discharged from (he services (o lil (hem out for seeking employment, must give most of us food for thought, says a London correspondent of (lie Catholic Press. His well-known broad sympathies and wide experience give significance to the appeal. It is due to urgent need, 1 .. What has become of the public promises made to those who went forth to battle in the early days of the war? Xo need to recapitulate them. Old boots, etc... would, however, appear to be the 0.8. E. for (ho heroes who made it sale for us. An election is upon us, we are.(old. It should not be impossible for thorn to get promises from the would-be candidates. Their comrades in the army and navy may he relied upon after demobilisation to see that they are honoured. It is even possible that the War Loan holders, whose capital (heir sacrifices have made secure, would lie content to see one per cent, of (heir interest allocated to fitting them out for civil life. Our national' honour is challenged by Sir Arthur Yapp’s appeal.
