NEW ZEALAND AND THE WAR.

HOW LONG FOR- DRAFTS? As Ministers of the Crown have stated that they expect to receive news soon of Germany’s acceptance of terms dictated hy the victorious Allies, there is some curiosity among the public as to intentions of the Government in regard to men for the camps and others who arc ready to embark. It can he taken for granted, of course, that tho authorities must be necessarily in communication with the. British Government on that question. The position now is that practically no more men will bo called into camp until January. Even the'first of the New Year drafts, if mobilised and put completely through their training (including a finishing-off in England) would not roach the front till the early part of 1020. Therefore tho policy (o-day provides for reinforements in a possible spring offensive of the year 1020.
