BOWLING.

The remarkable bowling green at Westport was mentioned by Mr Cl. A. Harkness in his remarks at the Xelson Bowling Clnh’s opening on Saturday. This plant seemed to have solved the problem of the best bonding green for New Zealand. It needed practically no cutting, as it grew to no appreciable height. Mr Harkness said he had brought some specimens of the plant to Nelson, and Mr W. Tomb--Im, who had had a great deal of experience with bowling greens, was going to make experiments with it (here.
