PRESBYTERIAN SUNDAY SCHOOL.

The annual prize-giving and social in connection with the above was held last evening in the schoolroom. Over 70 children sat down to tea, and did full justice to the good things provided. Later on in the evening the concert and distribution of prizes look place. The Rev. J. H. Bredin presided over a gathering that taxed the seating accommodation. The proceedings opened with the singing of the National Anthem. The following contributed to' the programme:-—Song, “Sweet and Low,” by senior girls; recitation, Kitty Large; instrumental duet, Joyce Claris and Ella Patterson: humorous song, “Where the Jam Pots Grow,” by a number of boys, whose face and hands were liberally besmeared with jam; duet, “Water Cresses,” Vera and Doris Shcrratt; dialogue, Robert and Geo. Wbodroofc; song, Lily Large; dialogue by three girls; recitation, Jim McKnight; reading at sight test by Masters AJex. Henderson, Willie Claris, Misses Pearl McMurray and Sarah Henderson; “The Kiddy Cooks,” by Doris and Avis Haydock, hi character; pianoforte solo, Nellie Woods; recitation, Edna Runnier; song, Vera Sherratt: “Washing Day,” Bertie Edlin; recitation, John McKnight; dialogue, “Seven Little Women,” girls; monologue, Joyce McMurray; recitation, Nellie Woods; pianoforte solo, Rita Perreau; song, Madge Patterson; recitation, Kathleen Hornblow; a humorous dialogue in character by a number of boys, depicting a railway ticket office scene, created roars of laughter, and was a fitting finale to a really line programme. The distribution of prizes was as follows (medals taking place of books as first prizes in the senior classes) ; Senior class — Robin McMurray (medal), Joyce Claris, Thelma Harper, Ella Patterson, Alex. Henderson and Win, Ross; ('lass II. —Donald McMurray (modal), .Huntley Ross, Robt. Woodroole j, Class 111. —Ninnian Ross (medal), Ken. McMurrav, Ferguson Baildon, Max Picard: Class IV— Joyce McMurray, Isic-Patterson, Madge Patterson, Thelma Derrick, Katie Lacey; Class V. —Avis Haydock, D/.»ris Haydock, George Woodroofe and Melton Ingle; infants —Kitty Large. Each child in the lower division received a book. The Rev. J. IT. Bredin congralulatod the scholars upon (he progress made both in class and examination work. The medals won should ever remind the holders of their association with the school. The National Anthem concluded the proceedings.
