LABOUR DAY.

Yesterday was observed as a holiday by business people. The only local attraction was a musical programme rendered in Victoria Park by the Feiiding Salvation Army Silver Band. The local State school did not observe a holiday. Wellington, Oct. 28. The weather is fine for Labour Day. The principal attractions are the races at Treutham, the Labour sports at Newtown Park and Petone. The race trains were crowded. A large number went out to the course in motors, while many others were unable to find conveyances of any kind. Dunedin, Oct. 28. The weather is gloriously fine, and a close holiday is being observed. The principal attractions are the Labour Day sports at Portobello, the trotting meeting at Oainarn, .and the \’aces at Gore.
