SPRING SHOW.
Entries for the big event next week at Palmerston North have now finally closed, and show a substantial increase on last year's figures, excluding the dogs, which are not scheduled this year, owing to Die disjiersal of those interested in Dio “fancy.” Always famed for its display of purebred cattle, particularly dairy breeds, this year’s entries are better than ever. New breeds to show rings in the Dominion are North Devons, Red Polled and Guernsey cattle, which will all he on exhibition. Sheep and fleece wool entries are well up, notwithstanding the fact that Romney Alursh are somewhat less than last year, and both English and Border Lcicestcrs have disappeared. New breeds to North Island show-rings are Corriedales and Devon Longwools, both of which will be on show. Other items of interest are fleece wool, returned soldiers’ work, and wool spinning by hand, etc. Preparations are well forward, both for the Show and for the catering, which is being done hy the Town and Country Patriotic Women Workers for the Red Cross.
