Referring to (lie opening of (ho coming session next week, the Prime Minister said ho understood from his colleagues that preparation of the Government’s programme was well in hand, and Urn! (he House would he able to proceed with its work without delay. Asked whether the session was likely to end before Christmas, Mr Massey replied: “That will depend on the House itself.” Tiie result of the (wo recent hyeleetions being mentioned, Mr Massey said: “I realise (here never was a Government that did not meet with reverses occasionally. So far as I am concerned, i am quite prepared to face the position at any time cither in Parliament or out of it.”
Mr Massey would not make any statement as to the prospect of a general election in the near future.
