MINE WASHED UP ON THE BEACH.
NEAR THE HYDHABAD WRECK,

The Naval Adviser states (hat as a . result of mine sweeping operations three further moored mines have been discovred and destroyed in the northern area; also a mine has been washed up on the beach four miles south of the Manawatu in (he Foxton district. Another exploded by contact with rocks between Capo Farewell and West Haven inlet. About thirty-one mines at least have been aeeounted for. The neeessary steps have been taken to deal with the mine at Manawatu. Wo a.re informed that the mine washed up near the Hydra bad wreck was discovered by the-Levin police. A military detachment will arrive to-day to explodb it.
