WEDNESDAY’S SEND-OFF.

The. Borough Band is arranging a grand procession and farewell to the local men who leave for the military training camp next Wednesday. This is the .largest number of men who have yet left Foxton in one body, (wo of whom are well-known bandsmen, Messrs G. Rand and A. Smith. We are informed that the Salvation Army Band has amalgamated with the Borough Band, making a combination of 25 performers, and under the capable baton of Mr Gobier, the massed trumpets should add a martial effect to (he procession. The Patriotic Society is also assisting, and several local societies intend joining in the procession. All returned men are particularly invited to participate, and will lake up a place of honour immediately behind (he Band. Societies or clubs who desire to participate are invited to eommnnienlo with Mr Colder, who is supervising (be procession. The procession will assemble at the Council Chambers, at 1.15 p.m., when the Mayor, on behalf of the Band, Patriotic Society, and citizens, will deliver a farewell address. The Mayor, we understand, lias also been intrusted with a few presentations. On arrival at (lie railway station, the Rev. W. Raine will say a 'few words of farewell. The Mayor is endeavouring to arrange a general half-holiday.
