FOXTON RIFLE CLUB.
A meeting of the Committee of the Foxton Rifle Club was held last evening, Rev. Mr Raine presiding.
It was decided to make an inspection of the range on Saturday next and have any necessary repairs carried opt. The official opening was fixed for Saturday, October 12th.
It was mentioned that three members of the Club, Messrs C. Rand, A. Smith, and A. Barnard, were under orders to proceed to camp this month, and it was decided that the Club join in with the band in arranging a farewell to local men going into camp on the fith inst. Itwas also decided to present the three Club members mentioned ar hove with safety razors or their equivalent, the presentations to be made at a social evening to be bold at Air MeMurray’s residence on Monday evening next.
A vote of thanks was accorded the Press for the publicity given to Club matters.
One small account was passed for payment, and the meeting terminated.
