BOWLING.
The ollicial opening of! I lie local bowling green will lake plane at 2 o'clock 10-niorrow afternoon, and promise* to be one of the’most successful in the history of the Club. A large number of visiting bowlers will be present, and the full green will be occupied by players. The Palmerston North Chib will be represented by at least two, and most probably three rinks, Bedding Inone, and probably two rinks, Utaki two rinks, Shannon two rinks, Alanawatu one rink, Levin one or two rinks, and Terrace End will also most likely be represented, and one or two players will also be present from Wellington. In order that everything will be in readiness for the opening at 2 o'clock, local players are requested to be on the green not later than 1.45 p.m. Nlembers arriving later than this hour will take a risk of not getting a game, A cordial invitation to be present at the opening is extended bowlers, members and their friends.
A “working bee' will be on the ground the whole of to-morrow morning, putting the final touches on the green in readiness for opening. It is desired to keep the roller on the green all the morning, and the assistance of members in this connection is requested.
