CROQUET.

The annual meeting of members of the local Club was held on Wednesday afternoon. In the unavoidable absence of the president of the Bowling Club, Mrs Parkcs was voted to tiie chair. The following committee was elected for the ensuing season: Mesdmnes Parkes, Ball, Perronu, Bryant, Beay and Woods. Mrs Woods was unanimously reelected as secretary, and a very hearty vote of thanks was accorded her for the able manner in which she had carried out the secretarial duties during the past three years.

Mrs C. A. Pearson was elected a, member of the Club.

The question of refreshments was discussed, and it was decided to recommend that on the days not provided for by lady members, two members of the Bowling Club should arrange for refreshments, the names to be drawn by ballot. It was mentioned that a number of ladies were desirous of joining the club as non-playing members, and it was decided to accept honorary members at a fee of live shillings per annum. Mrs E. Huntley was eleeted as an honorary member. Mrs Keay kindly offered to provide a whitening barrow for marking out the lawn, for which she was accorded a very hearty vote of thanks.

As the lawn will not be ready for play at the some time as the bowling green, it was decided lo hold the official opening later on in the season, to which invitations to be present will be scut to members of all the neighbouring clubs.

The following have signified their intention of presenting frophies for eompefition : Airs Perreau, Mr -lames Slewart (inemhers only), and Air -I. K. Hornblow (inter-eluh).
