BOWLING.

A meeting of the committee of the local Club was held on Tuesday evening. It was decided to officially open the green on Wednesday, October 2nd. Messrs S. J. Easton and T. Henderson were elected members of the dub. The following were elected as a selection committee: Messrs F. I). Whibley, W. Nyo and F. Woods, Yesterday afternoon there was a. good “working bee' on the ground, and the green was cut down a little lower, and the surface thoroughly rolled. It is now well forward, and should he in real tip-lop order for the opening on the first Wednesday in October. The main requirement now is continual rolling, and the assistance of members is required in this connection.
