BOWLING.
At the mooting' of the ATanawntu Bowling Centre on Tuesday afternoon, the question of howl testing was dismissed, and it was decided to enquire whether the tester at Wellington could visit Palmerston North to test howls for this Centre. It was further decided that; this; Centre considers the time is ripe for the Dominion Bowling Council of New Zealand to reconsider the matter of howl testing, and endeavour to have a definite standard draw fixed, to enable the makers of bowls to comply witli same, thereby abolishing the much vexed question of green v. table tests, which has been the reason for so much dissatisfaction. The local green is now lookingwell, and provided the weather continues favourable, should he ready for opening at the end of this month. AVhal it requires from now on is rolling, and in this connection the assistance of members is requested. Air C. Nelson has been appointed caretaker, and commenced his duties on Monday morning- last.
