FOXTON BOWLING CLUB.
ANNUAL MEETING
The annual general meeting of members of the Fo.xton BowlingClub was held on Thursday evening. The president, Mr W. Xye. presided, and there were seventeen members present. The annual report and balancesheet, as published last issue, were read and adopted. The following officers were elected for the ensuing year: —Fresidenl, Mr F. D. Whibley; vice-president s_, Messrs Dr, Mandl, P. Lmnsnen, and F. Woods; secretary and treasurer, Mr L. E. Large; commiß.eo, Messrs W. Xye and D. Christie; audit or, Mr F. Symes; delegates to Bowling Centre, Messrs Dr, Mandl and L. b. Freeman. The retiring president, in vacating the chair, (banked the committee and members for their assistance during - the past season, .which, ho said, had undoubtedly been one of the most successful in the history of the Club. He referred to the improvements that had been effected on the ground, particularly the alterations to the croquet lawn, and expressed the Club's thanks to the ladies, and especially Mrs W oods, for their assistance in this connection. The work had been carried out without expense to the Club, thanks to the assistance of members, and he urged that the help of members in carrying out further improvements on the ground should be continued. He concluded by welcoming the new president to the, chair. Mr Whibley thanked members for electing him as president, and assured them that he would endeavour to further the interests of the Club in every way possible, and appealed to (lie committee and members fop their assistance and co-operation in making the (mining season a success. The question of the appointment of a ground committee was discussed, and it was eventually decided, on the suggestion of. Dr. Mandl, that a supervisor he elected, lo have control of the green. Mr W. Xye was unanimously elected to the position. On the jnotion of My Crawley, a very hearty vote of thanks was accorded the retiring president, Mr W. Xye, for the able manner in which he had filled fhe position. It was decided to recommend the committee to appoint three of its members as a selection committee. An honorarium of £2 2s Od was voted to fhe secretary, Mr , Large, who had ably filled the position for fhe past two years. The following new members were elected Messrs L. .1 Furrie, L. W. Gibbs, E. W. Huntley, A. dagger, K. Kennedy, D. Ogilvie, C. A. Pearson, John Eoss, Eoore Rangiheuea, .Sherra, and D. Williams. Other routine business was discussed, a»U the meeting teonwatfid.
