INTER-COLLEGE FOOTBALL.

Wanganui, August 28. The second game of the annual inter-college football tournament, was played to-day, when, after a fast and exceedingly hard game, Wellington College defeated Christ’s College by six points to three. The play was chiefly confined to the forwards, though at times Hindmarsh and Wilson for Christ’s College, and Davidson, Nieqll and Ward' for Wellington, made some fine runs. Nicoll and Davidson scored tries for Wellington, and Hindmarsh scored for the southerners. None of the tries was converted. About two thousand people ns-' sembled at the Palmerston showgrounds yesterday afternoon to witness the contest between the Auek •• land Grammar School and Palmerston High School teams. The game ended in favour of Auckland by 12 points to nil.
