PATRIOTIC SHOP.

The takings at the local Patriotic Shop on Saturday last were in aid of the Christmas pudding fund. The effort was supervised by Mesdames McMurray and Renton, who are to be congratulated upon the net sum raised, viz., £46 14s Od. Tho gross takings were £sl Is. Included in this amount is the school children’s effort, £7 16s 7d, and Father Christmas’ collection of £3 14s 6d, Competitions were won by the following:—Ham, Mr H, Signal ; camisole, Mrs C. Robinson; case of apples, Ross Stevenson; cake- stand, Mrs E. M. Honore; fern bowl, Mrs Gower; sweets, Mrs Harvey; crown of sweets, L. Scadden; dinner (correct weight, 151bs. 150z5.), Mr W. Petrie Ifilbs.; £1 worth of groceries, Miss Joan Thynne; sheep, 67 lbs., Messrs Wallbutton, A. E. Green, C. Spring, J. Campbell.
