The amount of gas manufactured during the month of July shows a good increase compared with the preceding month, and is a record for the works, being 25,700 ft. in excess of the previous record. The increase in gas sold for July, as against June, is: lighting 10,400 ft., and cooking ami heating 45,900 ft., a total of 02,300 ft., which represents in cash the sum of £23 15s sd. The increase for July, 1918, compared with July, 1917, is 48,300 ft. for lighting, 57,000 ft. for cooking and heating, and 2,000 ft. for power, a total of 107,300 ft., representing an increased income of £43 0s Sd, which, I think, is very satisfactory. The carbonising plant is working satisfactorily, with the exception of the purifiers, as reported last month. I connected three large cookers and one gas lire, and still have three to connect this month. The Mayor said the report disclosed a very satisfactory position as far as the output was concerned. The report was adopted.
