EDUCATION BOARD ELECTION.
The votes in connection with the election of representatives to the Education Board were counted thin morning, at Wanganui. Air P. C. Freetli was elected for Palmerston urban area, Air Bruce tor Wanganui urban area (defeating Air Sewell, the sitting member), and Mr Alt. Fraser was re-elected for the Southern Ward, defeating Air Hornblow by thirty-eight votes. This is the first time for fourteen years that Air Fraser has had an opponent for a seat on the Board. In previous elections he has been returned unopposed. He was early in the contest, his opponent only coming to light after a number of the committees had acceded to Air Fraser’s request for nomination. Still, Air Hornhlow put up a respectable vote. The total recorded were: Fraser 122, Hornhlow 84. Wo congratulate Mr Fraser on his reelection. The following are the votes for the Palmerston urban area:—P. G. Freeth 15, Mr Canton 11, Airs Crabb 8. For Wanganui urban area; —Air Bruce 20, Mr R. Sewell 11.
