METHODIST CHURCH.

ANNIVERSARY SERVICES. The Anniversary of the Methodist. Church was celebrated on Sunday last. Throe services were bold, the preacher for the day being the Rev. Janies, of Sanson, who delivered appropriate and helpful addresses to good attendances. Several anthems were ably rendered by the choir. At (he afternoon service the Sunday school scholars gave several of their anniversary hymns, being led by Mr R. T. Betty. The anniversary tea was held on Monday night, in the supper-room of the Town Hull, and to which full justice was done by the large number who were present, the ladies of the church having provided a plentiful supply of provisions, etc. This was followed by a public meeting in the Church, the Mayor, Air J. Chrystall, being in the chair. The Rev. Ashcroft, of North, gave an address on the “Consolitary Pacts of Life.” The choir again rendered several anthems. After a hearty vote of thanks to all who had helped to make the anniversary a success, the meeting was brought to a close by the singing of the National Anthem.
