The entertainment held in the schoolroom on Friday last in aid of the Copper Trail, Avas a great success, the sum of £l7 5s Od being the amount raised for the effort. Quito an enjoyable evening Avas spent, and the Trail will advance 138 yards as the result. The prizes for the euchre Avere Avon by: Lady’s, Mrs R. J. Mohekey; gent’s, Mr Roland Smith; and the consolation prizes Avent to Miss Amy Duncan and Mr Harry Tompson. The iced cake (donated by Mrs J. Murdock) was guessed by Mavis ShaAV, am] the pen-painted cushion (donated by Miss E. Spring) was Avon by Mrs Wallace.

Keen interest is being taken in Moutoa by the School Committee and people interested in school matters generally in Ihe coining election of a representative of the Southern Ward on the Wanganui Board of Education. It is though!) that an infusion of ucav blood Avould be beneficial. People -throughout Ncav Zealand generally arc Avaking np to the fact that our educational system is not Avhat it should he, and requires readjustment. A meeting of the Patriotic Committee was held on Tuesday evening to select throe delegates to represent Mouroa on the Foxton Committee. The minutes of the previous meeting wore rend, and correspondence dealt Avilli. The folloAving members were elected: Messrs Piggot, Morgan and ShaAV. It Avas also decided to hold another endive party on July 2(ith, for the general fund. Mr and Mrs W. Smith Avere present, and arc now on the Committee.
