FATAL MOTOR CAR ACCIDENT.
IN THE MANAWATU GORGE
Three Shannon residents, Messrs Tremewan, M’Kegg and King, were motoring through the Mafiawatu Gorge on Thursday night, when the car ran into a slip on the road, and wont over the bank. King and M’Kegg jumped clear before the car went over, but Tremewan was apparently unable to extricate himself, and was carried over the side into the river. It is not known for certain whether he was carried down the river or was pinned under the car. Dragging operations are in progress. Mr Tremewan is a wellknown resident of Shannon.
