Mr Massey states that the details of the New Zealand w*ool contract kave been satisfactorily settled. Tho Imperial Government accepts Iho shipping responsibility. Ollier con-tra-cts are more difficult. There is no question of squeezing the producers, hut the Government cannot shift the existing purchases. Tho general outlook for the Australian producers is serious unless the war terminates soon. It is hoped, however, that decreased submarining and a higher output of tonnage will solve the difficulties.
