OBITUARY.
MR. ALEX. LAZARETTE
The death occurred between 9 o’clock on Tuesday night and 8 o’clock yesterday morning of Mr Alex. Lazarette, who has been a resident of this district for many years. On Tuesday the late Mr Lazarette arranged with Mrs Lyne, a neighbour, to clean and tidy-up his house the following day, and on going to do this in the morning Mrs Lyne knocked, but getting no reply, opened the door, and was horrified to find Mr Lazarette dead in bed. The police were immediately communicated with, and later the sad news was conveyed to the deceased’s family, in the South Island.
The late Mr Lazarette had been in indifferent health for some time past, and had been under medical, treatment. The immediate cause of death was heart failure. The late Mr Lazarette had been a resident of New Zealand for a great many, years, living in the Canterbury Province before coming to Foxton. He was of a very genial disposition, and well liked by all who knew him. He leaves a son (Mr J. Lazarette, of Nelson) and two daughters (Mrs Sturrock, of New Brighton, and the other a resident of Sumner).
