A RESORT TO FISTICUFFS
Napier, May 27,
During an interval between a special meeting of the Napier Borough Council to appoint a representative on the Tramway Appeal Board and a meeting of the Finance Committee, Councillor McCarthy, Deputy-May-or, accused Councillor Mulvanah of telling lies. Councillor Mulvanah hit Councillor M’Carthy on the jaw.Councillor Mulvanah then fell or. was thrown back on'to a chair, and Councillor M’Carthy seized him and said: “Will I knock him out?” Other councillors intervened, and the committee meeting was adjourned by the Mayor.
