FARMERS’ UNION.

SHANNON-MOUTOA BRANCH. The above branch of the Fanners’ Union met at the residence of Mr Jaggar, Marotiri, on Tuesday evening. There was a good attendance, Mr Alex. Saunders (president) occupied the chair. The agenda paper to be submitted tq the annual conference was read by- the secretary, Mr F. Kirton, and discussed, together with routine business. Mr Kirton was appointed delegate from the local branch to the conference. Mr E. Law, member of the executive of the Farmers’ National Fire Insurance Association, gave some interesting facts in connection with same, and showed the saving effected in premiums through the operations of the Association, Mr and Mrs Jaggar were accorded a hearty vote of thanks for placing their home at the disposal of the meeting, and for hospitality extended.
