MASONIC.
The annual installation of W.M. and investiture of officers in connection with the local Masonic Lodge took place yesterday afternoon. Visiting brethren were present from Palmerston, Dannevirke, Rongotca, Eketahuna, and elsewhere. R. Wor. Bro. J. A. Nash was Installing Master, and Wor. Bro. Hornblow Director of Ceremonies. Wor, Bro. A. J. Graham invested the officers. Others who also assisted were Bro. Porteous (organist), Bro. C. Pike (trumpeter). Wor. ‘Bros. Clark, Dustin, Araon, R. James, and Healey. The following officers were invested: — W.M., W. Bro. J. W. Stevenson; 1.P.M., W. Bro. H. J. Berry; S.W.. Bro. S. E. Cowley; J.W., Bro. W. Renton; Chaplain, Wor. Bro. J. 11. Brcdin; secretary, Bro. A. E. Wainwright; treasurer, W. Bro. E. Healey; S.D., Bro. J. M. Barr ; J.. W., Bro. R. M. Parkes; LG., Bro. H. J. Claris; tylcr, W. Bro. F. W. do Bidder; S.S., Bro. Knewstub; auditors, Wor. Bro. J. Ross and Bro. A. J. Kellow ; D.C., Wor. Bro. Hornblow.
Owing to a motor car mishap, the R.AV. Prov. G.M., D. McParlane, and R.AA 7 . Bro. Keesing, D.G.M., were unable to be present. In the evening the local brethren entertained the visitors and ladyfriends to a very enjoyable social in the Town Hall. The interior of the building was tastefully decorated with bunting and greenery by Bro. H. J. Claris. The catering was in the hands of AA r . Bro. Perreau, while R. AVor. Bro. J, A. Nash, as M.C., saw to it that every one enjoyed themselves. A number of vocal items were contributed, and much appreciated. The dance music was supplied by Miss Reeve.
