BOROUGH FINANCES.
The following is the Borough Treasurer’s statement submitted at last night’s meeting of the Borough Council: — The sum of £447 12s3d was received during the month of April, and placed to credit as under: —District fund account £377 4s 9d, cemetery account, 7s 6d. The balances of the various funds at the Bank of New Zealand as at the 30th April, 1918 were as follow: District fund account, debit, £709 7s, cemetery account, credit £l2 9s sd, and the ledger balances at the same date as follow: —Cemetery £l2 9s sd, hospital and charitable aid £3l 18s 3d, library £ll 15s 6d,* reserves £sl 4s Od, sanitation £lO 9s lid, Town Hall £l9 4s Bd, Whirokino bridge interest, £2O 6s, roads and streets £l9 4s 6d, Shannon bridge £lO 17s lOd, council chamber £ll 10s lid, Whirokino bridge additions £24 14s 7d, roads and streets No. 2 £ls 2s lid, eßach road £2l 16s 7d, all in credit, a total of £260 15s 4d. The following accounts were at debit; — General £489 Is Id, gas works £458 11s lOd, and imprest, cash £lO, total £957 12s lid. SUMMARY. A/cs in credit 260 15 4 Bank bal. D.F.
