ENTERTAINMENTS.

MALINI—THE MAGICIAN,

At this early stage there is every indication that Malini, the Magician, Avill be greeted by a large audience Avhen he appears in the Toavu Hall on Tuesday evening. Malini “travels light,” that is to say, all his paraphernalia can be packed into a handbag. He does not rely on mirrors, trick boxes, and collapsible tubes to aid him in his Avonder-work. Malini has a pair of hands as flexible as the policy of some politicians, and he' finds them all that is Accessary to baffle the closest of enquirers into his magical Avays. Many of his tricks are so Avcird in their culmination as to be almost uncanny, the seeming simplicity of others .jiuakcs them the more remarkable. With cards his art is Mephistophelian; apparently he can do almost anything Avith them. It is his supreme cleverness AA’ith cards that has earned for him the title of “the Napoleon of Magic,” The rapidity with Avhich he Avorks keeps the audience in a perpetual state of-Avonder, trick follows trick quickly, and all the Avhile Malini has his audience in the best of good humour Avith quaint sayings and stories. The Australian press proclaims him the greatest magician Australia has seen. The season is for one night only, and the box plan is at Teviotdale’s.
