ENTERTAINMENTS.

MALINI, THE MAGICIAN.

Malini, a conjurer, who is to give one performance at the Town Hall on Tuesday next, May 14th, has been described as “the Napoleon of magic.” As an artist in legerdemain, Malini does not seek the aid of mechanical devices or of apparatus of any kind; he.relies solely on the dexterity of his hands. Ho comes well accredited, as, having toured the world, his press book teems with eulogistic notices. An Australian paper declares that “Malini commences where others leave off.” His tricks are merely the result of clever sleight of hand, but done so artistically that they seem almost uncanny, achieving the seemingly impossible. His tricks with cards are so remarkable that one might well imagine that he had rendered them obedient to his will. On one occasion, when appearing before the late King Edward, His Majesty was so fascinated with one of the card tricks that he requested Malini to repeat it three times. His demonstration is characteristic of simplicity, and appears to be accomplished without any deception whatever. Malini does not allow a dull moment during his demonstration, and has quite a fund of humour. The box plan is now open at Mrs Teviotdale’s.
