FOOTBALL.
A meeting of the Foxton Football Club was held in Perreau’s rooms on Tuesday night, when the following officers were elected: President, Mr M. E. Perreau; vice-presidents, Messrs A. J. Kellow, Chas. Robinson, O. Robinson, J. Chrystall, Jas. Robinson, F. Gardes, H. Beveridge, F. Robinson, W. Bock and A. Ross. Mr Perreau has presented a cup for competition, and Mr Kellow has donated a ball to the club, and to these gentlemen the Club extends its thanks.
It was decided to commence play on the racecourse on Saturday next, 11th inst, at 2.45 p.m. Two teams, Awahou and The Crusaders, have entered for the competition. A combined team will also play a series of games with outside teams. The following will represent Awahou against Blue Crusaders on Saturday next:—Mcßrearty (2), C. Robertson, E. McEwcn, V. Jones, W. Baker, H, McGregor, S. McGre•gor, Y. Burr, F. O’Reilly, H. Wright, F. Feehan, Groom, R. Andrew, and W. Chamberlain. The Crusaders’ team will be: A. McPherson, M. Robinson, Cole, F, Desmond, J. Thompson, F. Morgan, McGregor (2), H. Sanderson,!. Lenihan, T. Small, W. Walbutton, C. Lawton, F. Robertson, S. Hartley. All players are requested to be on the grounds at 2.30 sharp.
