The following will face the barrier. “The Striker”. (Hammer and Tongs— Lady Love), A promising young colt, not previously tried out. Being schooled over the course by .“The Plumber.” Knows something, of the Town Hall and picture show obstacles, but will require a little more hard feed to maintain the pace which will be set by his track mates.“Tom Thumb” (Red Fed —Agitation). Av nuggety animal, w;th ■ plenty •of -ginger. Trained on Maoriland Worker oats. Knows the track from end ttf end, and a previous' winner, but in the last race ho. ran, got pushed-out. Has a knack of lashings out; a roarer; objects to, '.a curb bit, and becomes fractious under whip or spur. Must have his head, which sometimes causes him to run off. 1 ' , “Skjm Milk” (Try’Again—Lupin). A good tempered animal, slow to move, but will stick it. Was beaten by “Codlin Moth” in a previous flutter/ • “Sambo” ’(Slap-rDab—Nil Desperandum). This evergreen aged animal comes -up smiling : at every event, and can stay the distance with any of his present competitors. He is game, and may be the’ surprise packet at the finish. Engineer {Roof. Iron—Resignation). ‘An ambitious colt, showing good pace until ' he slipped and strained a tendon in an endeavour •to pass the Mayor on the blind side. Is making a rapid recovery, and is taking quiet exercise in company with “Codlin Moth” and “White Leghorn.” A likely winner.
