GERMAN PRISONERS QUARREL.
Auckland, Last Night. A German, interned at Motnihi, has been in the Auckland Hospital since February 11th, suffering from a fractured jaw, allegedly inflicted by a compatriot also interned. It will be remembered that at the official inquiry into the escape of the Germans, evidence was given regarding a note of warning which was left for the authorities. So far as is ascertainable, this mysterious epistle created ill-feeling araojig some of the prisoners, who were concerned about its authorship. It is understood that one German formerly a resident of Samoa formed a suspicion against an ex-Auck-lander who was sharing his captivity. He attacked the latter, and broke his jaw. A warrant has been issued for the arrest of the assailant, who will, he charged with assault and causing bodily harm.
