PATRIOTIC SHOP.
The shop was open on Saturday last; under the charge of: Mrs Alex. Ross and Mrs Frank Procter, who had a very good day, the competitions evoking a good deal of interest, While the Nelson apples found ready sale. The cake was won by Mr Bullard, with No. 24, while the weight of the pig, 551b5., was guessed by Mr A. Morgan and Mr Herbert Woodroofe. The weight of the hamper was 21;| lbs., was not guessed by any competitor, but five of them were within a quarter of a pound, and in the draw Mr Duff (of Messrs Veitch and Allan) was successful. Gifts are acknowledged from Mesdames Woodroofe, Hawke, Patterson, Thyune senr., P. Robinson, Harvey, Bowe, F. Robinson. A. S. Easton, Henricksen, Chas. Robinson, A. L. Harper, Moore, John Robinson, W. Ross, Jas. Robinson, Misses Speirs, Burr, Pearson, Messrs Alex. Ross, F. Procter, Duff, Bullard, Book, and Master Alfred and Manly Walsh. . ; On Saturday next- Mrs Arthur Harper will have charge of the shop, and a further supply of Motueka apples will be on sale.
