Y.M.C.A.

RED TRIANGLE APPEAL. WEEK ENDING APRIL 6th. The committee which have the Red Triangle appeal in hand have decided to make a direct canvas of every resident in the borough and district, to finish up with a final effort on Saturday, April 6th. A target of £I,OOO has been fixed, and as the heed is urgent and immediate, a hearty response is expected.

The work of the “Y.M. blokes” finds appreciation in every soldier’s letter from the front, and every part of the Dominion has recognised the good work of the Association, and made record contributions. Foxton docs not intend to be found wanting. The “Y.M.” has established huts and dug-outs in every place where fighting is going on, except in the air, and no doubt their pushing enterprise will some day grapple with the air, and the Y.M. secretary may yet become an aviator. All contributions to the fund will be gratefully acknowledged, and faithfully applied to the great work of keeping our fit men from becoming weary, and helping them to overcome the great hardships and temptations. The work of the Y.M.C.A. men is not confined to the firing line, but goes on where ever a soldier is, whether he be in camp, on leave,, sick, or convalescent, and looks I after his kith and kin when they go to France to see him lying waiting for the final call.

The money is wanted NOW. We must not get tired of. giving, any mox’e than the boys must get tired of fighting for us. The only thing that prevents this fair country from becoming a. hell on earth is the fact that our boys are standing up to the enemy. Give till it hurts!
