HORTICULTURAL SOCIETY.
A committee meeting of the above was held on Tuesday night, presided over by Mr P. Cf. Jackson (president). The secretary presented a statement of receipts and expenditure in connection with the recent Autumn Show. Receipts.— Admission £4 8s 3d, tea-room £3 3s fid, sweets stall £fi 4s 2d, sale of exhibits 14s 3d, donation ss, entry fees £4 fis 3d, special prizes £1 5s fid; total £2O 7s 2d. Expenditure.— Hall £4, advertising and printing £1 17s fid, judges’ expenses 14s fid, labour and sundries £3 Is 2d, amusement tax 5s lOd, prize money- £9 12s fid; total £l9 11s fid; leaving a credit balance of 15s Bd. The statement was received,, and accounts passed for payment. ATjes .of thanks were passed to all who assisted to make the show a success. Correspondence was read from Air W. E, Bond, of Aokautere, offering a special prize for next show.
