PRIME MINISTER VISITS FOXTON.

A CIVIC WELCOME. The Prime Minister (Hon W. F. Massey), accompanied by the Hon. D. H. Guthrie (Minister for Lands), Mr W. H. Field, M.P. for this constituency, and Mr Ritchie (Chairman of the Land Purchase Board), paid a Hying visit to Foxton to-day. The Prime Minister and Minister, tor Lands were accorded a civic welcome by the Mayor (Mr John Chrystall) at the Borough Council Chambers upon arrival, and were subsequently entertained at luncheon at Whyte’s Hotel. Prior to coming to Foxton, the party inspected land suitable for soldiers 1 settlement near Levin. The wharf and Round Bush was inspected, and the party were motored to Shannon. A full report will appear in our next issue.
