ROUGH WEATHER IN HAWKE’S BAY.
Napier, March 6. Only showers fell locally during the night, hut the rivers remain very high. The Ngaruroro is still overflowing, and the Wairaa is inundating a large extent of country. No stock losses are reported. Workmen managed to prevent the further overflow of the Tntaekuri at Meeanee. All the roads in the Hastings district are impassable except via Fernhill. The sea has moderated considerably, facilitating the outflow of the river flood. Gisborne,'.March 6. Very heavy rain inland caused the flood waters to rise steadily last night, and the greater area of the flats in the country was inundated this morning. The flood is subsiding.
