CASES STRUCK OUT
When the slander cases, Madeline Robson (Mr Cooper) v. Thomas Burke (Mr Moore), and Thomas Burke a - . William A. Robson and Madeline Robson, Avere called at the Supreme Court, Palmerston North, yesterday, Mr Cooper asked for an adjournment till 11.30 a.ru., in order to permit tAvo Avitnesses to arrive in lime for the hearing. When the Court resumed, Mr Moore announced that in the interval a satisfactory settlement had been reached, and he wished to state that Avhile his client denied having made the statement set out in the statement of claim, he publicly stated that he never at any time intended to insinuate anything against the character of the other party concerned. Mr Cooper said he Avished to make the same statement on behalf of his client, and the cases Avere struck out accordingly.
