PROPOSED SWIMMING BATHS.
ESTIMATE TO BE OBTAINED
The proposal for (he establishment of swimming baths locally was advanced a further step at last night’s Council meeting, when it was decided, on (he motion of (he Mayor, seconded by Cr Stevenson, that the Council obtain an estimate from Mr Robert Edwards, civil engineer, of Palmerston North, for the construction of suitable swimming baths on the foreshore of the Manawatu River.
The Mayor stated that Mr Edwards had offered to provide the estimate on'the understanding that if the work was not proceeded with no charge would be made for same.
