FOXTON RIFLE CLUB.
A meeting of the committee of the Foxton Rifle Club was held last night, Mr C. H. Symons (president) occupying the chair. The following trophies won last year were presented to the winners: First prizes: Mr R. Rand, engraved badge, presented by the late Mr Hanlon, and set carvers in case, presented. by Mr Burling; Mr A. Barnard, silver tea , set, presented by Mr Beveridge; Mr C. Rand, cigar holder, presented by the Club. Second prizes: Mr R. Rand, tobacco pouch, presented by Mr Senior; Mr J. Hartley, .'clock, presented by the Club; Mr C. Rand, tea caddy and fruit dish. Third prize: Mr A. Barnard, safety razor, presented by the Club. The following have donated trophies for competition this year:— Messrs C. H. Symons, J. Golder, R. M. Parkes, C. Rand, and John Ross. It was decided to commence the shoot for prizes of £l, 12s fid and 7s 6d, donated by Mr Beveridge, on Saturday next. The ranges will be 500 yds and 600 yds., and the competition will be decided on the highest aggregate in two shoots for both Saturday and Wednesday men, the shooting to take place on the first two Saturdays and Wednesdays. The competitors will he handicapped on their average in their last three shoots.
