Yesterday afternoon a rink from Shannon visited Foxton and played the ladders of the Gold Stars. The game was -well contested throughout, and the margin in favour of the holders after the 2l heads had been played w r as only two points. The following are the-teams and scores: Foxton. Shannon. E. A team of bowlers at present holi-day-making at the Beach played a game against Foxton rink on the local green yesterday afternoon, winning by the substantial margin of 18 points. Next Wednesday will he a '‘big day” on the local green, the occasion being an official visit from the Fcilding Club. The visitors will be represented hy five rinks, and play will commence punctually at 2 o’clock. All members of the local club wishing to play against the visitors are requested to put their names on the hoard at the green provided for the purpose, by Monday next, so that the rinks can be arranged % on Monday night.
