SUNDAY TRADING
Dunedin, Jan. 11,
It was argued in the Police Court to-day that the sale of soft drinks, ice cream, strawberries and creaf, etc., was not an offence against the law, but a satisfaction by the vendors of public necessity, Mr Young, S.M., decided that not being a light meal, the supply of those articles by themselves was not a work of necessity. In the specified matters before the Court there were three charges against Edward Serle of keeping the Bodega American bar open for the purpose of trading bn Sunday. Defendant was fined £1 and costs on each information.
