DISTRICT CASES. The following - additional district apepals were dealt with by the First Wellington Military Service Appeal Board, at Palmerston North: — Norman Hunt, factory hand, Rangiotu, appealed on the ground that he was not a reservist, being a, half-caste. Appellant stated that both his parents were half-castes. The appeal was allowed. The appeal of Ernest William Hindrup, farmer, Foxton, was adjourned till the February sitting. Charles Arthur C. Preston (Mr Cooper), shipping company manager, appealed on the ground of public interest. Appellant stated that he had held the position of manager for the N.Z. Shipping Company at Foxton for the past three years. At the present time the Imperial Government had requisitioned all the Company’s steamers. Fifty per cent, of the company’s men had gone to the front, while the only remaining clerk at Foxton was leaving shortly. Witness’ only brother had been killed at the front. The appeal was adjourned sine die. - William ' Henry Smith, farmer, Moutoa, was classed C2, and his appeal was formally dismissed,
