A VESSEL ON FIRE.

SCUTTLED IN LYTTELTON ' HARBOUR. Christchurch, Yesterday. A vessel caught fire in Lyttelton Harbour this morning. The Fire Brigade and the dredge Canterbury attempted to extinguish the fire, but it spread, and as it seemed impossible to save the vessel it was decided to sink her. This was done, and the vessel now lies in 34f(. of water at low tide. The harbour is strewn with quantities of debris.
