COMPENSATION FOR DEATH OF A HUSBAND.

Gisborne, Dec. 11,

The Supreme Court was occupied to-day with the claim of Minnie Ogilvie, of Auckland, against Fred. Hall and Eva Parker, proprietor and licensee respectively of the Masonic Hotel, for £2,000 damages for the death of plaintiff’s- husband, who died as the result of an accident while employed in the hotel. Messrs Stock and O’Regan appeared for the plaintiff, and Messrs Nolan and Skerrct for the defendants. -

The jury found for the plaintiff, awax’ding £I,OOO.
