BUSH FATALITY.
Whangarei, Dee. 7, Andrew Hughes, a quartercaste, working in the Kauri Timber Company’s bush at Ngapipito, Bay of Islands, met with a fatal misadventure at I p.m. yesterday. A kauri tree, when falling, broke down a tawa tree, the latter pinning Hughes to the ground. He was extricated at much risk to the rescuers, and conveyed 22 miles to Kawakawa Hospital, where he expired soon after arrival. He leaves a widow and three children, who reside at Whangprop, " w
