METHODIST CHURCH.
SUNDAY SCHOOL ANNIVERSARY.. A most successful anniversary in connection with the local Methodist Sunday School was held in the Methodist Church on Sunday last. The chui'ch was beautifully decorated, and the children, with their happy faces and white dresses, made a pleasing picture. The cangregations were large at all services, the church being tilled in the evening. The Rev. F. W. Boycs,’ of Palmerston North, was the preacher at the three services, and his addresses will long be remembered by all who were privileged to hear him. The children’s choir, under the able conductorship of Mr Betty, with Miss Evans, organist, and Mrs F. Chalk, violinist, rendered their special hymns and anthems in a style which demonstrated the most, careful training. The splendid tone and sweetness of expression was noticeable right through. To-morrow (Wednesday) the anniversary services will be continued, when the annual concert and prizegiving will be held in the Masonic Hall, commencing at 7.30 p.m. An excellent programme of children’s vocal solos, ducts, instrumental items, etc., will be given. Several of the special anthems will also be rendered by the children, and a most enjoyable time is anticipated. Refreshments provided. Admission Is, children Gd. We, strongly recommend those who delight to hear children singing to put in an appearance to-morrow night, at the Masonic Hall.
